Independence Day

This year Lake Powell was changed to different dates so we were able to be in Vernal for the Fourth of July!!! We had such a fun Fourth of July weekend with my family. It was kind of a hard weekend because the King’s were all getting together in Provo and my family was all going camping. So, trying to decide what to do and what to miss was hard. It’s always so hard trying to decide what we want to do because of course we would love to be at both things with both families. But, I absolutely love the Fourth of July; it’s probably one of my most favorite holidays. So, because we normally spend it at Lake Powell we decided to stay in Vernal and go camping with my family.

We went up to the mountain Friday night. Saturday morning we woke up and of course ate some delicious breakfast. Thank goodness calories don’t count on the mountain. πŸ˜πŸ˜‹ Then, we made our way the Flaming Gorge where we got ready and floated down the Green River. And, holy crap!!! It was such a blast!!!!! Like, probably one of the best river runs I have ever done! The water was so high and so fast so you hardly had to row at all. There was basically rapids the whole way down which were so incredibly fun!! And we got so lucky because the weather was peerrrfffeecctt- 90* and sunny the whole time. So, man. We had a blast. πŸ™‚

Saturday night we spent hanging out around the campfire just chatting, eating, and enjoying a peaceful night on the mountain. Sunday morning we woke up and cleaned up and headed back down. We all had to work on Monday, otherwise we would have stayed up on the mountain.

So, Monday I did a ton of lashes and then we spent the evening waxing my dad’s back. πŸ˜‚ (which was quite the adventure) Tuesday morning we woke up and went to the parade. The parade was really good! I love seeing people be so supportive of our incredible little community. Then, we went on a day trip to the Ice Caves and Paradise Lake up on Mosby Mountain. It was sooooo beautiful! The view was incredible. It was so relaxing and so fun to adventure to a new area. We came home and ate some Pizza Hut and went to the fireworks where we watched a pretty impressive firework show for Vernal. πŸ™‚ All in all, it was a really great day. We had so much fun. I love just being with my most favorite people!!
